Legal / Terms
Clear terms for useful work.
Effective date: 29 October 2026
These terms describe use of the fictional Meridian Ledgerworks website. They are general illustrative terms and do not replace a signed services agreement. A real business should confirm its legal identity and obtain advice appropriate to its circumstances before relying on this text.
Using this website
You may view and use the site for lawful business information and enquiry purposes. You must not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, or submit material that is unlawful, harmful or infringes another person's rights. Content may be updated, corrected or withdrawn without notice.
Information is not professional advice
Website content is general information about product development and systems integration. It is not legal, tax, financial, investment, security or regulatory advice, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from appropriately qualified professionals who understand your circumstances. No content promises a particular business or operational result.
Consulting engagements
Any professional services would be governed by a written proposal, statement of work or master services agreement signed by the relevant parties. Those terms should describe scope, assumptions, responsibilities, fees, schedule, dependencies, acceptance, change control, support arrangements and any data-processing obligations. If these website terms conflict with a signed agreement, the signed agreement controls for that engagement.
Clients remain responsible for decisions reserved to them, including product approval, regulatory interpretation, risk acceptance and the operation of their financial services. Meridian Ledgerworks does not claim regulatory approval or guarantee compliance, uninterrupted service or a particular commercial outcome.
Intellectual property
Unless a signed agreement says otherwise, website text, graphics and the original visual identity are presented as Meridian Ledgerworks materials and may not be reproduced for commercial use without permission. Each party retains ownership of materials, tools, methods and know-how it owned or developed independently before the engagement. Ownership or licences for client-specific deliverables, third-party materials and open-source software should be expressly stated in the applicable agreement. No intellectual-property transfer is created merely by viewing the site or submitting an enquiry.
Confidentiality and information submitted
Do not send confidential, sensitive or regulated information through a general website form unless a suitable arrangement has been agreed. A form submission does not by itself create a confidential relationship or client engagement. Personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
Third-party services and links
Where the site references an external service, that service is controlled by its own provider and terms. A reference is not an endorsement, certification or guarantee. Meridian Ledgerworks is not responsible for third-party websites or services that it does not control.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, website content is provided without a warranty that it will be complete, current, available or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Subject to that restriction, Meridian Ledgerworks is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this general information, inability to access the website, or reliance on material that has not been adapted to a user's circumstances. Any liability and cap for professional services must be addressed in the signed engagement agreement and interpreted under applicable law.
Changes and severability
These terms may be revised by publishing an updated version with a new effective date. If a provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent they can operate lawfully. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
Governing law and contact
These website terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights a user may have under applicable law.
